MEET ANTHONY
Born and raised in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, Anthony Batista emerged from a foundation of resilience, guided by the unwavering determination of his hardworking mother and grandmother. Growing up alongside his sister and cousin, Anthony witnessed firsthand the sacrifices his single mother made to provide for their family.
Anthony's mother, a beacon of perseverance, tirelessly balanced work and full-time studies at John Jay College. Her dedication and hard work culminated in a successful career as a federal agent, showcasing the transformative power of determination. These early life lessons instilled in Anthony the values of hard work, commitment, and the belief that one's circumstances need not define their future.
Distinguishing himself early on, Anthony embarked on a path of public service, dedicating over a decade to the United States Army as an infantryman. Serving both in the active army and the army national guard, Anthony's commitment to duty and honor marked the beginning of a remarkable journey.
Post-military service, Anthony pursued higher education and seamlessly transitioned into the legal field, demonstrating his adaptability and thirst for knowledge as a senior paralegal.
His dedication to community service continued to thrive, leading Anthony to become a pivotal figure in Neighborhood Advisory Board 15. His leadership qualities were recognized, culminating in his election as Vice-Chair. In this influential role, Anthony orchestrated the collection of vital data and directed the allocation of federally funded contracts amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars. These funds were strategically channeled to address the diverse needs of local residents, leaving an indelible mark on the community.
In 2022, Anthony's impact reached new heights as he played a crucial role in allocating $900,000 in federally funded contracts alongside the board chair. These funds supported various local non-profit organizations dedicated to combating poverty within the district.
Continuing his trajectory of community-focused leadership, Anthony served as the Director of Constituent and Community Services for former Assemblywoman Frontus. In this capacity, he honed his skills in advocating for constituents and facilitating positive change within the community.
